Subject: review best practices for publishing non-tabular data
Hi all,
Some of you may remember that we started a working group to develop best practices for non-tabular data management at the LTER IM meeting in 2019. This group has now finalized 9 documents to the point of being ready for your comments.
Please review them in this folder: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1mq5QCl_ldLh9rox4jNjClG9NTDqMIfjn?usp=sharing you should be able to comment on each document - let me know if not.
We would like comments back by December 7th and then discuss the documents and comments in person during the VWC on December 14th. You may add your comments and suggestions to each document, or to this comments document<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1OFK03ck3vyToocI41wd6QiHA3vxqA4m3e-WDQYg3LKs/edit> or e-mail them directly to us.
Specifically, please consider these questions:
Are all special cases covered? Do you have datasets that don't fall into any of the categories?
Is the text clear and understandable?
Are any details not covered within the categories?
Where should these documents live (be published)
how will they be updated
how will they be cited
Are you comfortable with these being our best practices?
Anything else?
thanks,
the non-tabbers
