[LTER-im] Job opportunity at UCSB - info manager for SBC LTER

Hi all -
As you know, the EDI (Environmental Data Initiative) is starting up, and 
will extend and promote the LTER data management approach to several NSF 
programs. I plan to work with that group half-time, and that commitment 
(plus other projects) means that I will not be able to give SBC LTER all 
the attention it needs.

So this is the perfect time to bring on my replacement!  The job ad 
below is for an entry-level data manager, who will work closely with 
Gastil and me. The SBC group is great -- active, involved and 
collaborative in all aspects of the project. They all support data 
preservation and appreciate the work that goes on in this office. 
Sometime soon after the hire, the new person will become SBC LTER's 
primary info manager.

The job is in the Specialist track, which is an academic appointment for 
those engaged in specialized research and professional activity (but 
without teaching).  The application will be open till September 30, with 
the first review date August 15.

I will be here at MSI, and still closely involved with the LTER Network, 
including the IMC.
