Hey all, I’m back from a really great leave with my new little one. Luckily in my absence things have been moving along for this summer’s RET program but I suspect it has not been shared with this group. Our funding is through the BEACON Institute for the study of evolution in action and the Society for the Study of Evolution. A multi-state effort! Please share with colleagues or teachers in your networks. Thanks!

Application deadline extended to April 29, 2018: we have added new labs!
Attention K12 teachers: Gain hands-on research experience with TEACHER REVOLUTION: Teachers Researching Evolution! The program provides paid opportunities for teachers to work with a team of research scientists across BEACON. Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity! Applications are due April 29, 2018.

Opportunities in Michigan, Washington, North Carolina, Idaho and more!

Visit beaconed.wordpress.com<https://beaconed.wordpress.com/> to read more about the available research experiences and apply for the program!

Subject: [LTER-education] April EOC call tomorrow!

Hi all!

Tomorrow is the monthly ZOOM meeting for the Education and Outreach Committee at 3:00 pm EDT. We'll have a short presentation from Sarah Kelly about the AND site's Discovery Trail<http://blogs.oregonstate.edu/inspiration/2018/02/10/paths-cross-intersection-art-science-humanities-discovery-trail/> project. Attached are the April agenda and March minutes.

Check out this link for the spreadsheet<https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/13rLiqT9todx27gKG2-saWsFy_15wsn-006d6VPaDLw8/edit?usp=sharing> of suggested education-based speakers and workshops for the ASM. The Data Literacy folks have color coded their workshops in order of priority; we'll discuss this more tomorrow. Hopefully you all also got an email from either Jill or Marty letting us know that the workshop proposal submission form is open now!
