Dear LTER Lead PIs and Diversity Committee Reps,
Thank you for your participation in last week's meeting - especially at
this busy time of year!
I've read through the notes from each of the discussions and pulled out
some commonalities and an assortment of approaches. There is huge variety
here, but my hope is that -- by sharing the variety -- you may each be able
to find approaches that fit the culture of your institutions and
communities.

In addition, there are a few resources that keep rising to the surface,
based on their straightforward, actionable advice, especially:
Ten simple rules for building an antiracist lab
<https://journals.plos.org/ploscompbiol/article?id=10.1371/journal.pcbi.1008210>
*Safe fieldwork strategies for at-risk individuals, their supervisors and
institutions* <https://doi.org/10.1038/s41559-020-01328-5>
If your site (like many) is in the early stages of making a culture shift
around inclusion, one simple step you might consider is a group reading and
discussion of papers such as these.
Have a great holiday break!
