Hi Mary and all,
This paper is exciting, and I really enjoyed reading it! I'm attaching my
line comments (also with some suggested references as requested) in the pdf
on top of Michel's comments. I am also attaching my higher-level comments
in this word document. For the venue of the paper, what about Nature
Sustainability as a Perspective? My sense is that it might hit the audience
we want more than Current Opinions.
I agree that we need more concrete examples in the text. Along those lines,
I'm also attaching a paper in press led by Hui Xiao in which we develop a
modeling framework to quantify the value of information about feedbacks
from ecosystem function-biodiversity-and services for managing ecosystems
for multiple conservation objectives (BD and ES). The intro of the paper
and the case study application provide some potentially useful examples of
such feedbacks (and the extent to which they have been considered in
management) that could be helpful for us to cite and flesh out more
examples in our paper. Hui's paper should be out soon.
Happy to follow up on any of this and help with more specific revisions to
the extent it's helpful.
Best,
Laura
