Hi All,

Following last week's EC meeting and my submission re official representatives at major partner organisations, including Future Earth, this call for nominations to serve on the Earth Commission arrived. It seems to me it is an opportunity for ILTER to nominate at least two prominent LTSER and LTER scientists, respectively, as our contribution to Future Earth and to form a conduit for ILTER to interact meaningfully with Future Earth. The deadline for nominations is within 3 weeks and thus the matter cannot wait for the next EC meeting.

When you circulate the last CC telecon minuted to the CC member via email, I would suggest to indicate the "Dates of the next CC in Leipzig" in the top of the email news.  I understand that next CC will be September 7-8th, correct?  I am wondering whether broad CC member (especially those who didn't attend the CC meeting in Taiwan) recognize this important dates. It would be nice if you could put those dates of the next CC meeting on the ILTER web as well.
