Dear Publications Committee--

I received a request from Richard Holmes and Gene Likens to add *Hubbard
Brook: The Story of a Forest Ecosystem,* which came out in May, to the LTER
Book series.

That is, I assume, a matter for the publications committee. I could also
use a little update on the status of the publications committee. The e-mail
list I have includes:

Foster, David (drfoster at fas.harvard.edu) - HFR
Robertson, Phil (robert30 at msu.edu) - KBS
Waide, Robert (rwaide at lternet.edu) - LNO
Gosz, James (jgosz at uidaho.edu) - NWK

But the intranet page (http://intranet2.lternet.edu/committees/publications)
lists Alan Knapp as the chair. I'm happy to update that, but want to be
sure I have the correct information.

Can you confirm the membership and leadership of the committee? And let me
know if you want to include the Hubbard Brook book as part of the LTER
series.

Thanks, Marty

Dear Marty,

Iā€™m enclosing a press release about a new book that Gene Likens and I have
just written about the long-term research at Hubbard Brook, which is an
LTER site (HBR). The book is titled ā€œ*Hubbard Brook: The Story of a Forest
Ecosystem*,ā€ and was published earlier this summer by Yale University
Press. Since the book summarizes and highlights long-term studies at HBR,
could an announcement about its availability be included in an upcoming
issue of the LTER newsletter? Also, would it be appropriate to add it to
the LTER Book Series?

Thanks for any help with getting the word out about this new publication
from HBR.

With best regards,

Richard T. Holmes
