You would have thought that this would have been a critical element with
a person already identified and confirmed as part of a successful
proposal, that was also described by the PI as "intentionally vague".
In any case, the LTER Network saw at the ASM what they will be missing
after the LNO becomes the "NEW" LNCO and it will be interesting to see
how well they do. I was also surprised that the NCEAS folks (well
except for MS who had an agenda) didn't hang around for the whole
meeting to see and learn what LTER was all about - you know rather than
blowing out of there after their (poorly attended) event on the first day.
