Dear Bob,

I just heard about the new LTER communications office at NCEAS.

I am sure NCEAS will do a good job, but they can't surpass all that you 
and your excellent staff did at the Network office.

I really felt in good hands while you were running things, and I thank 
you very much for all that effective and intelligent service.  We will 
miss a touch you had for getting us to collaborate, accomplish great 
deal, and enjoy the process while you were PI.
