Openings for EDI Soil Harmonization Workshop (14-16 April, 2020)

EDI Data Package Citation and Discoverability
Data become increasingly citable objects, including data archived in the EDI repository. One indication is that there is an increased number of cited data packages in scholarly articles.

Cite Your EDI Data Package
The EDI technical team has released Cite, a lightweight and simple to use web-service that generates citations for data packages archived in the EDI data repository in several citation styles (ESIP, Dryad, BibTex, and raw JSON).

FEATURED DATA PACKAGE

Teaching Modules “Macrosystems EDDIE 1-3”<https://environmentaldatainitiative.org/edis-featured-data-contributions/teaching-modules-macrosystems-eddie-1-3/> were developed as part of the Macrosystems EDDIE program<https://serc.carleton.edu/eddie/macrosystems/index.html> by Cayelan Carey<https://carey.biol.vt.edu/> and Kaitlin Farrell (Department of Biological Sciences, Virginia Tech). The packages demonstrate the educational use of data and the role of data repositories in facilitating science education.
