Good afternoon IMC,

We will have our last Virtual Water Cooler (VWC) of the year, back at its regular day/time (2nd Monday of the month), next Monday, December 14th @ 12p PT / 3p ET.

We are pleased to welcome back the Non-tabular Data Working Group, a collaborative effort between members of the LTER IMC and EDI to develop best practices for archiving non-tabular data.

If you haven’t done so already, a final reminder to please review and comment on the 9 best practice documents they have prepared for public release. You can review those documents here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1mq5QCl_ldLh9rox4jNjClG9NTDqMIfjn?usp=sharing. You may add your comments and suggestions to each document, or to this comments document<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1OFK03ck3vyToocI41wd6QiHA3vxqA4m3e-WDQYg3LKs/edit>. The non-tabbers will be meeting tomorrow to prepare for next week’s VWC, and would appreciate additional feedback from IMC on their work prior to their meeting.

Specifically, please consider these questions:
Are all special cases covered? Do you have datasets that don't fall into any of the categories?
Is the text clear and understandable?
Are any details not covered within the categories?
Where should these documents live (be published)
how will they be updated
how will they be cited
Are you comfortable with these being our best practices?
Anything else?
