Delivering Data Management Training: a Guide to DataONE Resources
We are pleased to announce the launch of a DataONE education focussed unit
in collaboration with the Research Data Management Librarian Academy
<https://click.mlsend.com/link/c/YT0xNTY4Mjg3MzAwMDc5NTg5MTY4JmM9eDljNiZlPTM3NDAzNDkmYj00NzA2MTkyOTkmZD1uNWo0cTFw.xNTh4zgS8nlpUxyISvxN8yTG3SiOKlyhQJf4NILSquQ>.
The RDMLA course explores research data management (RDM) best practices and
consists of 10 units which can be taken individually, or as a complete
program.
The new DataONE unit, unit 9, is instructed by Dr. Amber Budden, co-lead of
DataONE and Director of Learning and Outreach at the National Center for
Ecological Analysis and Synthesis at UC Santa Barbara. This unit presents
the importance of data management training through an introduction to the
Data Management Skillbuilding Hub, managed by DataONE.
You can learn more about the Data Management Skillbuilding Hub through the
RDMLA course

*Upcoming Community Call:*
*Research Data Management Training Materials and Opportunities*
*Thursday December 3rd 2020 2400 UTC (1600 Pacific)*
Educational materials developed by the DataONE project, and available for
community contributions, can support a wide variety of training needs by
the DataONE community. Further, the curated collection of externally
developed training resources discoverable through the DMTC provides a
complementary selection of materials that are discoverable using criteria
such as target audience, disciplinary focus, topic, and license terms. This
community call will discuss current DataONE research data management
training materials, activities and resources in the context of broader
community initiatives (e.g. the DMTC and RDMLA). All individuals with an
interest in data management training should attend.
