[LTER-im] Invitation to contribute to RDA semantics best practices effort

Hi All,

I am writing to let you know about an opportunity to participate in a global effort to create best practices recommendations for terminologies representing observable properties (what is measured or observed in a dataset).  The Research Data Alliance’s “Interoperable Descriptions of Observable Property Terminology Working Group” is developing a community-agreed interoperability framework between existing representations of observable properties (like OBOE<https://bioportal.bioontology.org/ontologies/OBOE?p=classes>, SVO<http://www.geoscienceontology.org/svo/1.0.0/>, O&M<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Observations_and_Measurements>).

This Working Group is now collecting User Stories for data related to Nitrogen (the first use case they are considering).  You are invited to contribute!  A user story is a short and simple description of an application which requires semantic descriptions of observable properties.  It can be written from the perspective of a scientist, information manager, data center operator, etc.  Instructions are below.

Some of you may remember Barbara Magagna, one of the ontology experts who came to the LTER ASM in 2018.  She is now chairing this RDA working group and would appreciate your input.
