Dear LTER IMs and EDI folks,

ILTER DEIMS is moving to a new architecture and evaluating their metadata
structure. I've heard *lots* of opinions on this when we request site
information updates. This would your opportunity to express those opinions
in a way that could make a significant difference. Please make the 20
minutes to take this survey.

Thanks,
Marty

*Suvey on DEIMS-SDR Metadata Fields*

Dear Martha,

Metadata on different levels are important to enable not only the discovery
but also the reuse of resources. DEIMS-SDR (Dynamic Ecological Information
Management System - Site and dataset registry) contributes to this task.
The adaptation to user needs as well as to changing requirements for
information collection is an important aspect in the life cycle of
DEIMS-SDR. With the migration of DEIMS-SDR to a new system architecture the
underlying data models are evaluated. This survey is an important step in
this workflow by collecting user expectations and feedback on the
information and data collected. The results will be fed into the discussion
process on the data model for research sites, data products, datasets and
sensors.

Please go to the online survey. It will take approximately 20 minutes to
complete the questionnaire. The survey will be open in the first round
until end of August. If you want to contribute later, please contact us by
replying to this message.

For the survey no personal information (e.g. IP address) will be stored.
For statistical purposes some questions about your background are asked at
the end to the questionnaire. The provision of this additional information
is voluntary.

Many thanks,
The DEIMS Development Team
