HI All,

Thank you to those who commented on this dataset and sent updates. It's now published https://portal.edirepository.org/nis/mapbrowse?scope=edi&identifier=138&revision=2

The site description, history and research focus text is also used on the new LTER website for each site. https://lternet.edu/site/

Thanks
Corinna

Subject: siteDB data archived

Hi All,

Based on the feedback we received a while back regarding siteDB I have archived the content as best as possible. Currently it is in our staging environment for you all to take a look and comment on the approach I took https://portal-s.edirepository.org/nis/mapbrowse?scope=edi&identifier=138&revision=1

In addition to the siteDB export I also obtained an export from the ILTER website for their information on each US LTER site. There is some overlap, but they collected some other parameters too.

What this accomplishes is that it is all in one place and basic site parameters can be accessed as csv for all sites. Sadly, the information is pretty spotty, and of course the new sites are not included. So, I am open to receiving updates and additions if you feel so inclined. If you all agree, I will archive this as version 1 and then updates as new versions. Just send me one record for each table for your site with updates/additions you would like to see there. If you want to update or add your site to the ILTER database if would be best to do the editing there. I can always get a new export from them.

And if anyone has better ideas for more informative metadata, please let me know.

Looking forward to hearing what you all think. Please send comments, updates, additions by the end of January.

thanks
Corinna
