I thought I'd share this interesting email I received from Springer 
Nature. The most interesting point I thought was that you could publish 
your dataset for only $735 per dataset, as compared to the normal $1,290 
per dataset charge.

Using that standard, the "regular price" for the site data in EDI would 
be $7,998,000. Throw in all the remote sensing data etc. and it would 
cost $55,255,860 ......

Just thought you'd like to know that your work is valued!

helping to advance science. By publishing it you make your lab's data 
discoverable and citable - and helps your team members get credit for 
their work.

Data notes are very short articles. They are ideal for data collected by 
a research team which may not be published as part of the main project 
but can still be of benefit to the wider field.

They are quick to write, require no analysis of the data, and are 
published in /BMC Research Notes

Authors submitting a data note benefit from an article-processing charge 
of $735. This introductory price is reduced from the normal APC of $1,290.

A recent white paper from Springer Nature found that the main challenge 
for researchers with sharing their data was organising it in a 
meaningful way^1 .

Included in the APC is the added benefit of having your data looked at 
by Springer Nature's Research Data Support - a team who will help 
prepare your data for publication.
