EDI DATA PORTAL’s TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENTS

For more precise reporting of data downloads PASTA now records all “robot” requests<http://environmentaldatainitiative.us14.list-manage.com/track/click?u=c258a774cbd4d34290410d1ea&id=7578950abf&e=3cb49ced33> to the audit logs. The audit log will now show the phrase “robot:” in the user column, along with the type of robot detected.

NEW EDI TEAM MEMBER

Join us in welcoming Susanne Grossman-Clarke to the position of EDI Outreach Coordinator. Susanne has a Ph.D. in environmental physics and 25 years of experience with climate, crop, and air quality modeling, including a stint at the Central Arizona-Phoenix LTER.  Susanne will lead training workshops and conduct other outreach activities.

  *   Instructions on setting up a GitHub account and repository.

UPCOMING VIDEO CONFERENCE TUTORIALS

The goal of our upcoming tutorials<http://environmentaldatainitiative.us14.list-manage2.com/track/click?u=c258a774cbd4d34290410d1ea&id=83577aed1c&e=3cb49ced33> is to introduce you to the R Project for Statistical Computing, the version control repository GitHub and the procedure of creating EML using R. of creating EML using R. We will send out details through our mailing list or check the website for dates, times & connection info: https://environmentaldatainitiative.org.

Thereafter we will offer regular bi-weekly 20 minute in-depth tutorials on aspects of R (for example data wrangling), GitHub and EML. More detail will soon be posted on our website.
