Hi,
I want to inform you about two things:
1- There will definitively be no regular poster session at the ESIP Meeting in Bloomington, IN next July.2- Even if you submit one piece for this Research as art session, there is no guarantee that it will be displayed at this session, and maybe not necessarily for the quality of your piece but for the meeting's limitation of space.
Please read the below messages from the staff.

Hi Eda,
We have a limited amount of space for the Research as Art event. While we will try to accommodate as many submissions as we can, we cannot guarantee that all submissions will be accepted.
And so, the submission of more than one art piece would depend entirely on the there being enough space.
cheers
bruce

Hi,
Ok, thanks for your rapid response.
Can one person submit more than one poster to the Research as art session?

Hi,
I am interested in submitting both a poster for the regular poster session and another for the Research as art session.
The process for submiting the later is clear to me but not for submitting a poster for the regular session.
Can this be done? If so, what is the process to submit a poster for the regular poster session?
Thanks,

| Hello Eda
Thanks for registering for the ESIP 2017 Summer Meeting in Bloomington, Indiana!
Meeting Information
The Meeting Schedule is online. We are using Sched again for the online meeting agenda. Sched allows you to pick your sessions ahead of time and will send you a daily email reminder. Most sessions will have remote access. GoToMeeting instructions can be found on Sched site for each session. You can start up conversations with ESIP before the meeting! Keep up on all the action on Slack! If you are not already on the ESIP Slack team: here is your INVITATION. If you are on Slack, are you using the Slack App? It's a much better GUI. Grab it HERE.
Wednesday plenary speakers:
The 2017 theme is Strengthening Ties Between Observations and User Communities. The theme is based on one of the goals in the 2015 - 2020 ESIP Strategic Plan, which provides a framework for ESIP’s activities over the next three years. Plenary speakers are confirmed and listed on the Sched agenda. The meeting plenary will be streamed live on YouTube begining at 9am on Wednesday. Click here to watch it live, or view anytime after it’s over.
Research as Art:
- If you signed up to do Research as Art, make sure you get your submission in by the July 2 deadline!
- Research as Art Reception is Wednesday evening, July 26 from 7-9pm at the WonderLab (308 W. 4th St., Bloomington)
Getting to Bloomington and getting around:
As you prepare to travel you should note that Bloomington is an hour drive from the Indianapolis airport. Once you are in Bloomington, the conference hotels are all in walking distance (20 minutes) from the Indiana University Memorial Union Building, where we will be meeting.
There are shuttle busses between the airport and the Bloomington hotels which cost about 20$ each way. They run hourly and take about 2 hours to get you to the hotel (because they make several stops before the hotels). To facilite the sharing of Lyft/Uber cars (which cost about 55$) from the Airport, there is a sign-up where you can add your name and then contact others by email.Ride Sharing:
- Sign-up to share a Lyft or space in your rental car using the Carpool and Ride Share Signup Sheet: https://www.groupcarpool.com/ t/o6e2bw
If you are renting a car, you can use this signup sheet so others can ride with you.TIP: Add your name to a car at a time (give yourself at least 45 minutes from your landing time) and you can see the emails of other riders. Ping them by email to get their cell phone numbers to connect at the airport! There is only one place to grab a Lyft at the airport, so if you arrive late and get there at another time, just speak up "Anybody going to ESIP?"
Airport Shuttles:
- Classic Touch Limousine Service: 812-339-0082
- Go Express Travel Bloomington Shuttle: 800-589-6004
- Star of America Airport Shuttle: 800-933-0097
Other notes:
- There is early registration at the Hilton Hotel on Monday afternoon starting at 5 pm.
- Bowling night! 6-8 pm on Monday evening at the Memorial Union. Make sure you sign up through Sched, space is limited!
- Breakfast is in the three meeting hotels each morning.
- There will be transportation available from/to the hotels and the Memorial Union.
- There is parking next to the Memorial Union. It's not cheap ($13/day).
We are looking forward to seeing you! Please email staff at esipfed.org if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely, Bruce Caron on behalf of ESIP Visioneers & Staff
