Hi all,
Below is some info/an email about Slack to send out to the grad students at
your site. Remember, if you'd like to make a site-specific channel on Slack
for the students from your site, do it! Just click the plus sign next to
the Channels header.
Thanks for sharing!
Megan & Kent

In order to facilitate cross-site communication among graduate students,
the LTER Network Graduate Student Committee has established a Slack
workspace for all LTER graduate students.

For those of you who are unfamiliar, Slack is a messaging platform for
organizations. Within Slack are different “channels” in which users can
discuss various topics. Currently, we have channels dedicated to discussing
conferences, job opportunities, science communication, and much more. We
plan to use this platform to build the cross-site grad student network, and
also hope it can be a place for grad students within a site to communicate. *If
you would like to join the slack workspace, please contact your site grad
student rep or one of us and we will add you. PI’s, if you have students
who would like to join, please pass this message along.* Everyone’s
assistance with this task is greatly appreciated.

If you have any questions regarding Slack itself, feel free to ask Megan (
mmwheele at asu.edu) or Kent (rkconnell at ksu.edu).
Thank you,
LTER Network Graduate Student Committee
