Dear LTER DEI reps,

Happy February! We hope this email finds you all well and enjoying winter
in whatever form it strikes in your part of the network. This is a friendly
reminder that we have our monthly LTER DEI committee meeting next Tuesday,
February 15th, from 3-4pm ET. This meeting will be focused on our Working
Groups (Resources, Field Safety, Community Support, and Fundraising). One
note: we had discussed in our last meeting that we would like to have 2
people from each working group that are willing to keep the group's
conversation going in the off months, so please do be prepared to have that
conversation amongst your group!

In addition, we would like to suggest one change to the usual format to
prepare for the upcoming LTER ASM in September. Given the March 30th
deadline for applications for any "workshop events" that we would like to
organize at that meeting, and given that our discussion on what we would
like to feature generated quite a few good ideas, we think it would make
sense to have an "LTER ASM" breakout room to hash out the most enticing
options and determine who is willing to take on leadership roles for that
endeavour. This would then turn into a working group (or groups) for
whichever workshops are being workshopped (work grouped?) until the ASM.

So, if any of the ideas from our previous discussion excite you (see notes
from the last meeting in the agenda
<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_D1FnCzTofZ6q4r4LxFbrkNbrSQNHERG9o9ZGDsQZ3o/edit>)
or you have new ideas you are interested in developing further for the ASM,
then bring those thoughts with you next week!

Thanks everyone,
Nameer & Cora
