[LTER-diversity] next LTER Diversity meeting: Sept. 8, 3pm ET

LTER Diversity team,

A reminder that our call will be next Thursday, September 8, from 3:00 to 4:30pm Eastern Time.
Will circulate call-in info as soon as it is available.

Agenda is in the Dropbox and below (with thanks to those who submitted items). We're asking for a bit of pre-meeting work for the bolded items below.

1.       Diversity Plans

a.       Update on NCO Plan (here is the working draft<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1f4mqp-qpBW5ll7l1kr-HdgTLoOxrEtcy4vpSicNKGSo/edit?usp=sharing>) - feedback, contributions we can make

b.      Site Plans - review of status, plans for Committee to support their development, the idea of a pilot project for x number of sites who are committed to documenting their process, etc.

c.       Network Plans - general discussion of the idea of a network-level diversity plan

d.      Browse pages 3 to 12 of this doc<http://www.californiatomorrow.org/media/aedassess.pdf> (extrapolating beyond K-12) and consider how your site might answer the various line items; are any especially compelling?

2.       Working with LNCO on a system for collecting, curating and making available data about the diversity of site/program participants

a.       Feedback on Stacy's survey to be used for NCO working groups (Stacy will circulate for feedback)

3.       Developing resources to support best practices: first steps?

4.       Committee business

a.       Membership

b.      Leadership/Governance

                                                              i.      Are you interested in being a co-chair?

c.       Meeting schedule (currently we meet ~ quarterly)

d.      In-person meeting

5.       Before meeting, review synopsis of March 2017 AAC&U conference on diversity<http://www.aacu.org/meetings/dlss/2017>; discuss possible LTER participation

Those of us who are here in Florida for ESA had an impromptu meeting this afternoon, to catch up and begin discussing with the NCO some potential work for the coming year.
