Pardon this delayed message - I am just surfacing for air after an intense ESA meeting and a workshop when I got back!  First, congratulations again on your ESA Commitment to Human Diversity Award. Kellen did a marvelous job with your statement.   And second, congrats on your retirement. I can't believe it has finally happened!  I appreciate working with you these past few years and especially your efforts with SWS and SEEDS.   I  am glad that you will not stay away completely - I know all these good retired folks are busier than ever - but it will be great to have your input now and then. Enjoy your retirement :).

Hi Folks,

Wish I could have been at ESA but I was in Scotland on a retirement trip planned long ago. The temperatures in Scotland were a wee bit nicer than those in Florida.

I retired on June 1 and plan to cur back on my professional activities (including a reduction in my LTER research) and spend more time with my family. I will continue my work on diversity issues with focus on the SWS program I developed over the years. I have tremendously enjoyed working with this LTER group and I think significant progress is being made. I would like to stay informed about the groups activities but feel I should step away as an active committee member at this time.
