[LTER-commcom] Lemos et al paper

I thought of this article when you were sharing about facilitating your ARIS session, Sarah. This really resonates with me: Why Zoom is Terrible
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/29/sunday-review/zoom-video-conference.html

“In-person communication resembles video conferencing about as much as a real blueberry muffin resembles a packaged blueberry muffin that contains not a single blueberry but artificial flavors, textures and preservatives,” she said. “You eat too many, and you’re not going to feel very good.”

AND, I really appreciate your positive spirit about virtual meetings, Peter! It’s good to recognize other benefits to them even as I feel like I just ate a dozen packaged blueberry muffins…!

Thanks Sarah--
Interesting and surprising, for sure -- but I'm not sure that students are a very good analogue for professional practitioners, though. Their motivations for using information are completely different. And their predisposition to trusting the messenger, as well.

This is the paper I mentioned today during the call. I haven't read it in a while, so my memory of the key findings could be off, but it's an interesting study.
