Assistant/Associate Professor in Climate Science, Extension and Research
Department of Soil, Water, and Climate
University of Minnesota

The Department of Soil, Water, and Climate at the University of
Minnesota (U of M) seeks a faculty member with strong expertise in
climate science and a passion for public engagement and for
communicating climate information to key stakeholders such as
agricultural producers, natural resource managers, industry, the
broader public, and policymakers.

Appointment and Position Description

This is a nine-month tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant
or Associate Professor with duties divided between Extension (60%) and
Research (40%). The position is in the Department of Soil, Water, and
Climate on the flagship Twin Cities campus of the U of M. Applications
are encouraged from candidates with expertise in any relevant area of
climate science, such as meteorology, climatology, atmospheric
chemistry, hydroclimatology, hydrometeorology, etc.

The appointee will be expected to develop an extension program to
communicate critical climate and meteorological information useful for
decision making, and to develop a locally, nationally, and
internationally recognized research program related to climate
science.
