Call for international collaboration on
N2O emission
Deadline extended to June 15th

Dear Colleague,
 

Please provide your information on N2O emission monitoring in the LTER sites, using the enclosed spreadsheet!
 
The deadline was extended to 15 June, so if you have not yet responded, please do so at your earliest convenience!

Drs. Luis Lassaletta and William McDowell are organizing a global assessment of long-term measurements of N2O fluxes from terrestrial and aquatic systems within the ILTER and related site networks. They hope to develop a paper that examines spatial and temporal patterns in N2O, and to initiate a joint project that enhances and facilitates measurements of both aquatic and terrestrial N2O fluxes from ILTER and similar sites globally.
 
Dr. William McDowell (bill.mcdowell at unh.edu) is a biogeochemist and ecosystem ecologist with a long-standing interest in understanding N2O fluxes, especially in aquatic systems. He is a Professor at the University of New Hampshire, Durham, NH USA. Dr. Luis Lassaletta (luis.lassaletta at upm.es) is a biologist specialized on the nitrogen cycle and the agro-food systems from an integrative perspective. He is interested in the regional specificities affecting N2O emissions. He is a researcher at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain). This project is conducted as a part of the ILTER Nitrogen Initiative leaded by Hideaki Shibata (Japan)
