Earth Day Message from the Hubbard Brook Research Foundation

On Earth Day, we make a special effort to appreciate the natural world and to take
stock of its condition.  This year, with longstanding environmental policies at 
risk, Earth Day is a time to deeply consider what's at stake.  From water security
and air quality to wildlife habitat and recreation, we depend on our forests and
 the ecosystem services they provide.  In order to protect these natural systems
 and their attributes, we need to understand how they work.  Knowledge is the first
step toward asserting our environmental values.
For more than 60 years, Hubbard Brook has been a trusted source of scientific truth
and an antidote to alternate facts and false news.  Our goal is to generate knowledge
about forest and aquatic ecosystems.  By sharing this information with decision-makers,
Hubbard Brook science has the power to inform practical solutions for environmental
problems.  We supply the knowledge that protects nature.

On this Earth Day, we thank you for valuing the science that leads to smart policy
and responsible resource management.  Together we can continue to build a culture
of environmental awareness.
