Dear Colleagues:

We invite you to apply for a spot in an NSF DEB Ecosystems funded data
synthesis working group titled, "Ecosystem Responses to Hurricanes
Synthesis Workshop" The working group will bring together scientists and
practitioners studying recent the impacts of recent hurricanes to address
two main research questions:

(1) What is the variation in the resistance and resilience of ecosystem
components to Hurricane disturbance among different ecosystems (coastal
waters, estuarine, freshwater, terrestrial) and response types (fauna,
flora, biogeochemical, physical)?

(2) Which intrinsic ecosystem characteristics and disturbance
characteristics predict response magnitude and recovery rates following
hurricane disturbance?

Outcomes of the working group include peer-reviewed publications that
synthesize the results of our cross-system hurricane response analyses and
publicly available data products.

Co-organizers of the working group include: Christopher J. Patrick (Texas
A&M University – Corpus Christi, TAMUCC: https://patricklab.weebly.com/

).

The working group will meet for a multi-day synthesis workshop in Corpus
Christi, TX on April 28th – May 1st, 2019, followed by web-based
collaborative work to develop manuscripts. Funding is available for
successful applicants to travel within the United States to attend the
meeting.

Application Deadline: December 21, 2018.
