[LTER-luq] New tools for facilitating research at the Sabana Field Research Station, LEF

I am pleased to share with you new tools for facilitating research at the Sabana Field Research Station in the Luquillo Experimental Forest in Puerto Rico.



The first is our newly developed Sabana Field Research Station<http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/iitf/research/?cid=fseprd486693> website. The website provides information about the station's facilities, history, biogeographic setting, procedures for making reservations and submitting study plans, important forms, safety guidelines for the station and the chemical laboratory, and summaries about numerous research programs and projects occurring in Sabana and the Luquillo Experimental Forest (LEF).



Also available on the website is the Research Forms and Guides webpage,<http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/iitf/research/?cid=fseprd496010> which provides access to a number of downloadable PDFs relevant to Sabana. These include the newly developed Visitor Guide for Conducting Research in the Luquillo Experimental Forest<http://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/fseprd500422.pdf>, and an addendum to the Institute's Occupant Emergency Plan<http://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/fseprd495990.pdf> (OEP) that contains important safety guidelines and emergency protocols to ensure the safety of everyone at the Station.

I encourage all collaborating researchers to visit the website and associated links and review these documents prior to your next visit to Sabana and/or the LEF. We welcome your comments and suggestions as well!
