Subject: El Yunque NF to re-open on Friday

The Forest remained closed today as we had anticipated additional heavy rains in the afternoon as per information from contacts with the NOAA/weather Service.   Additional rains may occur tonight in the area.

We will plan to resume normal operations on Friday, but should remain alert to weather conditions which include predictions for more rains through the weekend.

At this time we have no further updates on the search and rescue operation for the women missing during the flooding incident on the Rio Mameyes.
