[LTER-luq] LUQ Proposal Reviews for your eyes only.

Dear Group,

The reviews for the LTER are in and I attach them.  HOWEVER, I share these
with you with the proviso that they stay within the group.  This is a
private communication between NSF and the PIs and therefore not public
information to be shared with anyone outside of LUQ.

As you heard before, we received 2 Excellents and 5 Very Goods.  These are
very good rankings in NSF reviewing.  As usual, some of the content of the
reviews does not equal the ranking.  For example, the one Information
Management specialist gave the proposal a VG but found no problems with the
IMS and lauded the system for being "transformational."  Sounds like an
Excellent to me.  On the other hand, look carefully at Reviewer 5.  They
emphasize some problems with the proposal and this negativity has been
emphasized in our communications with the PO, Saran Twombly.  These are the
things we will be needing to address as we go forward.

Need to start the Monthly Meeting.  I will do that now.
