Hi Jess,

Okay, I understand this may take more time, but please do not let and end of the week deadline slip as I want to give the review team adequate time to look over what you send. I received a request from one of the site review team members (listed as 1 and 2 below) and would like you to consider this as you complete your report. The requests are only suggestions, though since a team member is generating these questions, I think it is safe to assume they will be asked at some point during the review. The format in which you present the information is up to you, but I do think it would be good to address the questions. I certainly will make time to have a conference call with your team after I return on the 13th. If you have a day and time in mind, let me know.

Best,
Lou

1) Spreadsheet of proposed activities and timeline (IM and BI) vs. what has been done thus far to get a sense of their progress, to date.

2) Data (historical and current proposal) associated with education and outreach activities. Reading through this section of the proposal, I don’t see much in the way of specific data related to assessments, impacts, products, etc. If more specific info is needed, I can generate a list of things that I would like to see. Also, the PIs are leveraging funds from DoEd and USDA for their LTER Site, which is good, but I would like to see what they are doing with NSF funds.

Hi Lou,

I just sent a draft of the progress report to our Management Committee this morning, so we can't make the deadline for tomorrow. Would you please consider submission by the end of the week?

I have drafted the report for the Site Science with some context, but largely as a series of bullet points directed at the workplans under each hypothesis, a description of any changes that have been made to the workplans, and a brief description of key results achieved so far. Do you think this will be sufficient? The details of the results so far will be presented at the Site Review and the team will receive copies of the presentations in advance of their travel along with other details.

We would appreciate it if we could schedule a meeting between you and the MC once you return on the 13th to review final details of the visit.

Thanks,

jess

Hi Jess,

I am preparing to leave for ASLO in Hawaii tomorrow and will be gone from the office until Monday, March 13. However, I will have internet access and
I want to get your progress report to the site review team before I return to NSF.

Please send this to me by Tuesday, Feb. 28th. That will give the review team one month with the document.

Thanks,

Lou

Hi Lou,

I will talk to the MC tomorrow about the new charge. I don't think it will be hard to put together. Perhaps by the end of the month? I'll let you know more firmly tomorrow.

In the meantime, I can give you a more detailed scheduled for them to see all the stops and how they fit with the proposal. How about that?

Hi Jess,

Do you have a sense of when you will be sending me your progress report document for distribution to the site review team? The team has had some initial reactions to the site review schedule, but felt that they should read your review document to better assess whether they want to make suggestions on the schedule to ensure they have the information needed for their report.

Best,

Lou
