[LTER-luq-pi] Fwd: Luquillo LTER site review

Hi All,

The composition of the Review Team has changed.  See below.  I had a call
with Lou beginning to organize the details.  The most important details he
shared were:

1.  All information will flow from NSF, so the site review book and other
info will go to Lou first.
2.  He wants the IM person Jonathan Walsh fully involved in the site review
activities and not spend a lot of time separated from the group.  He is
setting it up so that Eda and he can begin to interact beforehand.

A reminder that the team members function much as a panel and they should
be anonymous.  I think I already sent out an email to all with their info,
but we should try to keep a lid on it from here out.

Hi Jess,



Deb Peters reported to me that there is high uncertainty as to whether or
not her sponsored travel would be approved for the LUQ site review. I am
unwilling to live with that uncertainty and the potential that a member of
the site review team would have to bail at the last minute.



As a result, I have replaced Deb with Niall Hanan (cv attached).  Niall is
a member of the Jornada LTER and it is anticipated that he will be playing
a leadership role in their 2018 LTER renewal proposal.  He brings expertise
in ecosystem modeling, remote sensing, and integration.



Do you have time for a brief phone conversation, perhaps as soon as
tomorrow?  I am preparing a letter for you regarding the planning for the
site review and I think it could be helpful to talk about the review
schedule in advance of that.
