Pretty much sounds like the UNM LNO (or UW LNO for that matter) never existed. A very sensitive and compassionate "NEWS" announcement. Glad to be getting out.

Subject: [NCEAS News] NEWS from NCEAS -- Awarded new Communication Office for LTER

Dear NCEAS residents, Working Group participants and Alumni-

Today is an exciting day for NCEAS. The National Science Foundation
(NSF) has awarded UC Santa Barbara and NCEAS $3.5 million to create the
first National Communications Office
<http://www.news.ucsb.edu/2015/015796/driving-national-communications>
for the Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) Network.

This announcement coincides with NCEAS' celebration of 20 years as a
Synthesis Center and the launch of a new visualization tool, VizSearch.

UC Santa Barbara has recently been selected by the National Science
Foundation (NSF) as the site of the first national communications office
for the Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) network. A $3.5 million NSF
grant will fund this communications office and it will be operated by
UCSB's National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis (NCEAS) —
taking advantage of NCEAS' experience in the support of multi-site
collaboration and synthetic research, along with graduate training and
environmental science communication. More>

  NCEAS is celebrating 20 years as a synthesis center!
  <https://www.nceas.ucsb.edu/news/hot-press-nceas-20th-anniversary-report>

For the past two decades, NCEAS has brought together scientists,
policy-makers, and resource managers in dynamic Working Groups, with the
goal of tackling significant questions in ecology and the environment in
order to rapidly advance scientific understanding and address critical
environmental challenges for the benefit of society. The Anniversary
Report explores the impacts NCEAS has had over the last 20 years,
celebrates our collaborators, and highlights the programs which are
driving future collaborations and discovery. More>

                Visualizing NCEAS Research Projects and Publications
                <https://www.nceas.ucsb.edu/content/VizSearch>

More than 2,200 scientific publications have been attributed to work at
NCEAS since its inception in 1995. To better communicate the scope and
impact of the collective work of the NCEAS community, we have just
launched a new visualization tool - VizSearch. We encourage you to
explore and search for your work or working group and discover how your
efforts have contributed to the broad ecological, conservation and
informatic themes that have emerged. Launch VizSearch
