Hello all -
During EDI's recent town hall, we gave a summary of the status of the LTER
Unit Dictionary, and asked who was interested in potential future use of
the database content. This message is to set up a meeting to discuss
directions.

Please fill out this doodle poll for a kickoff meeting:

Background:
The Unit registry was a resource created by the LTER IMC to collect units
in use in the network, so that they could be browsed and more easily
included in EML datasets. There were two parts: a mysql database and a PHP
interface with web services. The server and the PHP are both seriously out
of date. The database itself was cleaned up and used as a basis for adding
new units to the EML schema for version 2.2 in 2018 (
https://github.com/EDIorg/unit-registry)

First meeting agenda:
1. introductions, as necessary
2. discuss potential uses for resources related to the unit registry
(mainly the DB content)
3. find a time for a recurring (monthly) meeting.

This message was sent to a couple of email lists, sorry for duplication.
Thanks for your interest!
Margaret
