Another quick reminder - our VWC focusing on site identifiers (info in thread below) is today at 3pm ET/12pm PT. Connection info below. If you have a spare moment, please consider the question that Stevan and Suzanne are gathering feedback on for the IMC Annual Report to the network:

Do you see specific opportunities for improving network coordination (or coordination with other networks) that are of interest to your committee? If so, are there specific ways that the network leadership (PIs, LNO) could support your committee to realize those opportunities?

The October Virtual Water Cooler is coming up this Monday, October 18 at 3pm ET/12pm PT. The agenda is below, and there are a couple subjects we hope to gather IMC feedback about.

So, as you have time, please read up on those in advance of the VWC and be prepared to discuss.


Second, Suzanne and Stevan are preparing the annual IMC committee report for the LTER. They would like input from the IMC regarding a question that is being asked of all LTER committees. Please give some thought to the question pasted below regarding network coordination. We will spend a few minutes at the outset of the water cooler to discuss your ideas.

Dear IMs,


The October Virtual Water Cooler has been postponed for one week due to the Indigenous Peoples' Day holiday. We'll have the VWC on Monday, October 18 at 3pm ET/12pm PT. The agenda is still under development, but we'll be setting aside some time for learning about and discussing site identifiers (ROR<https://ror.org/>, ISNI, and similar), and we will gather some feedback needed for the IMC's annual report to the Network. The site identifier discussion will kick off an effort to have sites acquire and use these identifiers, so you may want to read up on those in advance of the VWC.
