That is interesting. Last I saw from them they were offering help with data archiving for free. Guess, it didn’t take them long to realize how much work it is.

I thought I'd share this interesting email I received from Springer Nature. The most interesting point I thought was that you could publish your dataset for only $735 per dataset, as compared to the normal $1,290 per dataset charge.

Using that standard, the "regular price" for the site data in EDI would be $7,998,000. Throw in all the remote sensing data etc. and it would cost $55,255,860 ......

Just thought you'd like to know that your work is valued!

Data notes are very short articles. They are ideal for data collected by a research team which may not be published as part of the main project but can still be of benefit to the wider field.

A recent white paper from Springer Nature found that the main challenge for researchers with sharing their data was organising it in a meaningful way1.
