Here is a quick blurb on the two Associate Research Scientist positions
that are being advertised now. These are to fill positions vacated by Ron
Taylor (retired) and Angela Collins (now with FL Sea Grant). If you know of
someone who might be interested, please forward.



Position or Title: Associate Research Scientist (#77070350-51194430)

Agency/State: Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission

Responsibilities: Conduct professional biological research on aspects of
Florida’s marine resources. Organize the collection of data on
distribution, abundance, size structure, growth, reproduction and other
population characteristics of reef fishes Prepare proposals and reports.
Write and submit manuscripts suitable for publication. Supervise assigned
personnel.

Qualifications: Masters degree from an accredited college or university
with major course of study in one of the physical or natural sciences or
mathematics, and three years of related professional experience. Candidates
may be given preference if they have a doctorate from an accredited college
or university with major course of study in marine fisheries, three years
of professional experience, and experience in the management of scientific
staff.

Salary: $52,045
