Hi All,
I'm sending this out to the whole community (some of your projects might be
polar related), and specifically folks at ARC, BNZ, NGA, BLE, PAL and MCM
should take a look. Abstract submissions are due July, 31.

Cheers,
Sam

Dear Colleagues:
At the upcoming AGU 2019 Fall Meeting on December 9-13 in San Francisco,
there will be a session on *Fostering Public Engagement in Polar Field
Campaigns*. We welcome abstract submissions to this session and provide the
relevant information below. The abstract submission deadline is in one
week, July 31, 2019.

Sincerely,
Lauren Everett

Session Title: ED029 – Fostering Public Engagement in Polar Field Campaigns

Session Description: The polar regions are rapidly transforming in response
to climate change and other stressors. Research is underway to examine a
vast range of changes in the polar climate system and their many impacts
locally, regionally, and globally. As scientists continue to increase
understanding of the polar regions and explore these unique and remote
areas, technological advances open exciting opportunities to share
fieldwork experiences with broad public audiences. Fostering public
engagement in polar field campaigns can tap into the interest the public
already has in polar exploration and increase awareness of the issues
facing the polar regions. This dynamic session aims to highlight a range of
innovative ideas and techniques to connect polar field campaigns with
students, teachers, Congress, journalists, and the general public.
Abstracts are requested concerning new and effective methods to engage
broad audiences and to communicate science in the classroom and beyond.

Session ID#: 82715
