I hope this is helpful!

At Kellogg Biological Station's LTER we use schoolyard LTER funds to offer a professional development program<http://www.kbs.msu.edu/education/k-12/pd/> (5 workshops days a year) for K-12 teachers. We have over 200 teachers from 20+ school districts in Michigan that participate. The KBS K-12 Partnership started in 1999 and has allowed us to leverage funds from within MSU (graduate school to fund grad. students as Outreach Fellows), EPA (environmental education grant to create a K-5 specific professional development, Teaching Science Outdoors<http://www.kbs.msu.edu/education/k-12/elementary/>), private donations, NSF DRK12 and GK12 grants (DataNuggets<http://datanuggets.org/>, BEST Plots<http://kbsgk12project.kbs.msu.edu/>). We also work to find funds to offer Research Experiences for Teachers each summer, many faculty use NSF broader impact funds and this summer we have a National RET program<https://beaconed.wordpress.com/> funded through NSF's BEACON Center for the Study of Evolution in Action.

Hi Kari!

You might try sending it to education at lternet.edu<mailto:education at lternet.edu> rather than lteredureps at lternet.edu<mailto:lteredureps at lternet.edu>. I don't think that listserv is maintained any more (at least I don't get emails from it reliably any longer, including yours!). We'll make a point to mention it at the meeting as well!

Best,
Caitlin

Hi Caitlin and Jill -

See below. I just sent this to the listserv, and I'm sure that Marty will see it and forward it on soon. I will not be at the meeting on Wednesday. So can you please announce this? And let me know if there are questions? I'm wondering if you all are willing to even pull up the outline on google docs, and review the parts where I need updates from folks? I put things in yellow highlight that I need help with.

Thanks much!
Kari

Dear colleagues,

I will be giving a 10-minute update to the LTER Exec Board at the upcoming science council meeting. I need your help putting the presentation together!!

I put together an outline in our google share folder<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1h4rSC4Te5Z4LNKU2B4ZbCCql-hrHlAscEXSdg6Fuh1M/edit>.

Please take a moment to read through my outline, and contribute information if you see a spot to do so. For example, I requested an update from sites doing Data Jam - please send me an update if you can! And I also mention needing information on some of the funding people have mentioned.

Please send me your information in a power point slide - unless it's just a one sentence thing about a proposal - you can put that in an email!

Please send me all your materials by May 6th.

Thanks much for all your help!!
