Hi LTER ed folks,

Looking forward to talking to you on Wednesday!

I wanted to let you know about the next UFERN webinar.

Best,
Kari

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Undergraduate Field Experiences Research Network (UFERN) is pleased to announce a new webinar series focused on 21st-century field education.
The webinar series will bring expertise to our discussions and thinking that support the goal of UFERN by moving field learning experiences into the 21st century.
Please join us for the 2nd webinar in this series on December 12th at 10 am PST.
The webinar will feature Dr. Alison Jolley (AJ), Science Teaching and Learning Fellow/Lecturer at the University of British Columbia. Much of her work involves supporting faculty in the implementation and evaluation of student-centered and evidence-based teaching practices in lecture, lab and field settings. AJ's research interests are in understanding the affective side of student experiences on undergraduate geology field trips, particularly with respect to field places and landscapes, and how these experiences may be replicated and optimized in virtual environments. Dr. Jolley will present "Can't beat it on a good day: Investigating student experiences on field trips with different instructors and variable weather".
