Dear EOC colleagues--

Here's another great resource for education and outreach professionals. See
the email below for information about Portal to the Public, run out of the
Pacific Science Center in Seattle.

Two webinars happening next week and a workshop in the end of February. I
won't be able to attend the webinars, but hope that some of you will and
can report back to the group.

Cheers,
Marty

about joining:

· Tuesday, October 4, 3-3:30 pm EDT/12-12:30 pm PDT

· Friday, October 7, 1-1:30 pm EDT/10-10:30 am PDT

below for a description of the Portal to the Public project.

Is your institution or organization interested in:

   - Offering professional development in communication to scientists and
   engineers?
   - Hosting public outreach events that feature researchers from your
   institution or organization?
   - Joining a community of practice dedicated to scientist-and-public
   engagement?

Portal to the Public (PoP) helps organizations connect public audiences
with the research and innovation happening in their own communities through
dialogue with local scientists and engineers. Whether launching new
initiatives or strengthening existing programs, organizations can adapt the
PoP framework to meet a variety of institutional goals. PoP’s flexible
framework has been adopted by over 50 science centers, universities, zoos,
museums, and other groups that contribute to the Portal to the Public
Network.

We are now seeking new sites to join the Portal to the Public Network
through our February 27-March 1, 2017 training workshop in Seattle, WA.
Some scholarships are available. Learn more at http://popnet.
pacificsciencecenter.org/ or email Anna Johnson at AnnaJohnson at pacsci.org.
