[LTER-commcom] Help please, we are ready for your input! LTER Anniversary Calendar

Hi Comm Comm!

Liz (copied here) and I are ready for your input on the text for the LTER 40th Anniversary Calendar. In other words, we need some help! It’s short notice, but please add any comments to this google doc by Wednesday, October 16: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1SMiLkWZDG9nHcnaSN_iR8Sh70DzYRfDdf6p2LeD4pGk/edit?usp=sharing

We don’t want too much text but do want to give a sense of the activities of the Network. I think we are missing a few key themes, please help us weave in text on:

  1.  diversity/equity/inclusion
  2.  stakeholder engagement
  3.  REUs


We’re on a tight timeline in order to get this done by December. We’re ordering 1000 calendars – each site will get some and we’ll send some to the NCO and to NSF. This will use up our Comm Comm budget for 2018 and 2019 ($6k total). The Committee will get another $3k to use on other things for 2020.

The photos are from the site briefs that Marty and Caitlin put together (THANK YOU!) and much of the text is pulled from the LTER website. Liz (here at KBS with me) has done an INCREDIBLE job tracking down high res versions of these photos and working with the graphic designer and the printer….thanks, Liz!
