Hi Team!

You may recall that the LTER has submitted 5 synthesis papers as a special feature to Ecosphere (“LTER Futures”). At the ASM last fall we decided as a committee that it would be worthwhile to have a committee member and an outside scientist review each of the papers. As the Subject Matter Editor for this special feature, I am in the process of selecting reviewers for each paper. I propose we move forward in the following way:


  1.  Please email me this week if you are willing to review one of the papers (I will submit final names on Friday afternoon, April 12).
  2.  Once you have reviewed your paper, let’s have a conference call and discuss the papers and suggestions we could make to the authors to have more cohesion across papers. I think this is the real “added value” the Comm Comm can bring to this important special feature.
  3.  (I will send you all five papers, even though you’d only be assigned to one paper, and some of you to none.)
  4.  Then, you’ll each submit your review to Ecosphere, including common themes we agreed to include in the reviews.
  5.  Once any revisions are incorporated, we can have another call to discuss outreach/press strategy for the papers.
