The processing of our award was originally held up because of reporting issues on our (UPR) side. Now, the problem is that for grants over $1 million, BIO now requires a panel to meet. Saran tried to skip this step because the reviews were so positive. She is now having a virtual panel on January 6 and moving the award forward after she has a panel summary to add to the jacket.</div><div><br></div><div>So, please consider the below a stocking stuffer. The real "present" doesn't arrive until Three Kings Day.</div><div><br></div><div>Hope you all have a wonderful Holiday Season. Congratulations for preparing a well-written proposal that captured the imagination and interest of your peers. As you and I have discussed, we plan to recommend an award for $3,920,001 for a duration of 36 months. The likely starting date remains uncertain, but I am hopeful that NSF can release your award letter by 1 February 2016. The award will be a continuing one, funded in increments of $1,501,888 for 2016, $1,269,258 for 2017, and $1,148,855 for 2018.</span></p>
