on a strategy of sharing </span><span style="font-family: Calibri, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">standardized climate and hydrological data</span><span style="font-family: Calibri, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">.</span></p>

the past, this was achieved by LTER and FS sites contributing data to the </span>
<span style="font-family: Calibri, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">climDB/hydroDB database</span><span style="font-family: Calibri, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">. With no dedicated
funding or designated owner, climDB/hydroDB has grown antiquated. In 2020, the working group developed a two-phase plan on how to modernize the approach, outlined in this document:

The work includes the (1) archiving of the entire climDB/hydroDB content as flat files in the EDI data repository, after which climDB/hydroDB will be sunsetted; (2) creating data packages for each site’s climDB/hydroDB content converted to ODM 1.1 format.
