annual IMC meeting was scheduled for Sunday, August 2, 2020, preceding the Ecological Society of America’s (ESA) annual meeting. As you may be aware, ESA has decided that the 2020 meeting will now be fully virtual due to concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a result, IM Exec has decided not to host our annual IMC meeting in conjunction with ESA. Instead, we will host a mini meeting of the IMC during our regularly scheduled August water cooler (10 August 2020 at 3p ET / 12p PT) where we will address business
items, including elections, that would have typically been considered during our annual meeting.

colleagues, and showcasing outstanding ecological science. As such, we strongly encourage IMs to attend and participate in ESA. Furthermore, because of the tremendous cost savings afforded by ESA going virtual, we have sufficient funds in our budget to also
cover the registration fees for the ESIP Summer Meeting, which will also be held virtually. We strongly encourage IMs to attend and participate in both the ESA and ESIP meetings. LNO will cover registration (but not ESA membership) fees for one IMC representative
from each LTER site to attend one or both meetings. LNO will soon be providing specific details on how to register for each meeting.</span></div>
