<span> </span>I<span></span>t is with mixed emotions that announce my retirement (March 2, 2016) as the Information Manager for the FCE LTER. I’m really excited to begin a new phase of my life that allows extra time to spend with my family and time to try
new things, like house flipping and learning to play golf. On the other hand, I am sad that I won’t have the opportunity to work with all of you in the future! I can’t believe that nearly 16 years have passed since beginning my job as the FCE IM! I guess
what they say about time flying by when your having fun holds true for me. It has been a pleasure working with each and everyone of you over the years and I have nothing but respect for all of you. Never has there been such a smart, hard-working, generous
group of people…I’m proud of our accomplishments over the years. <br>

<span> </span>The FCE LTER is extremely lucky in that they were able to talk Kristin Vanderbilt into taking over my IM position! I can leave the FCE with a smile on my face knowing that the information management system has been left in Kristin’s very capable
hands…thank you Kristin for taking my position! Not only does the FCE get a wonderful IM but the IMC gets to keep Kristin…a win-win situation in my opinion. I'm sorry I'm sending this announcement out so late to everyone but I was waiting for all the paperwork
to fall into place and for Kristin's appointment to become 'official'.<br>

<span> </span>Big things for the IMC are on the horizon and I wish you the best in your endeavors. Good Luck with the NIMO proposal and having a hand in molding your futures. I will keep an eye out for your accomplishments and know that there will be many
to come! I will miss you all so if you have time in the future, drop me line to let me know how you are doing. My email will remain as powell@fiu.edu after my retirement date.<br>
