We are going through a revamp process at VCR, and we're struggling with whether to throw out our original plan (which honestly reads like a list of good intentions) in favor of a strategic plan or action list of SMART goals. We've also considered keeping the
"good intentions plan" and supplementing it with "handbook" of specific practices and resources + implementation of a leadership structure.</div>

<div>Looks like the committee had a great discussion last month and that sites are making some good progress -- whether developing concrete interventions or grappling with how to discuss issues in an inclusive way.</div>

<div>Data collection continues to surface as an issue, with lots of sites putting significant effort into developing parallel surveys. I'd like to focus a portion of our discussion tomorrow on progress and plans at the network level regarding data collection
and how that could intersect with site's efforts.</div>

<div>Related discussion might include:</div>
<div>1) Demographics and climate are different and may require different processes. First step is to be clear about the goals of a survey.</div>
<div>2) Reporting is yet a separate process, with different goals and legal implications. Requires more discussion with institutions.</div>
<div>3) What portions of this work could be done at the network level? What process might achieve the goals and address the concerns of most sites?</div>
