I think we can surely do these too. We can also add an announcement
on the first page of the ASM website.<br>

I also like the volleyball idea, and some "rules are probably good -
like maybe 6/team (so we have more teams) and perhaps of equal
gender per each - or something.<br>

active - each LTER site creates a volleyball team, or some
team, to compete against all the other sites - and establish
rules like ti can’t be 100% grad students, or must be equal

well. Working groups slots are filling up and posters
are streaming in. So the one missing link for the ASM
is what to do for the final event.<br>

Originally we were pursuing some sort of band. One
tentative one was selected but people didn't think some,
or that type of music playing in the background was
really going to work. There were suggestions for other
bands, but checking into them they either "were no
longer playing together" or were VERY expensive.<br>
<br>
So one of our main discussion points is where do we go
from here.<br>
<br>
Other suggestions we have include some sort of "game
night" - perhaps volleyball where folks could sign up
for teams, or sites could duke it out for bragging
rights. Perhaps hoops . Bob suggested shuffle board
(I tried not to say "really?) - but maybe . We are
going to be in a gym after all.<br>
<br>
Perhaps we could charge the student committee with
coming up with music (like maybe something everybody
won't hate). They actually did this last time - after
the old folks left and went to bed, they took over,
plugged a Mac into the sound system and took it from
there... Or at least that is what I heard...<br>

What else????<br>

We need to decide on something, hoepfully during our
call in 2 weeks so we can work with the YMCA if we are
going to do a pizza night or whatever - we've already
ordered all the other things.<br>
